Império
Portugal, 1121. You hold Coimbra - one city, a few hundred souls, and a claim nobody yet recognises. IMPÉRIO is an isometric strategy game where a kingdom is built one street at a time. Lay out your farms, sawmills and workshops on the city grid; commit your workers, because two hundred hands on a building site are two hundred hands not in the fields. Tax what your market sells, and let the coin decide how fast you grow. When the walls go up, choose where the towers and the gate stand - you will find out whether you chose well when someone comes to test them. Then march. Guimarães in 1128, Lisboa in 1147, Faro in 1249: the real dates of the Reconquista, offered as marks to beat rather than a script to follow. Cities you take keep their names, their people and their history - they change flags, not identity. Every city is a place you laid out yourself, and worth defending for that reason.
Alpha 0.1: the prologue. The ocean and the lands beyond it are still to come.
